Urban Hubs (2014)

Urban Hubs are modular, 3D printed recycle bins for bottles and cans to raise awareness and (eventually) have a positive impact on neighborhood recycling rates. Urban Hubs are in places where locals can drop off empty bottles and cans for their neighbors to collect and redeem for cash.

This project has been a collaboration between myself and my buddies from 3D Brooklyn. 3D printer manufacturer 3D Systems identified us as 'influencers' and kindly sponsored 3D printers and material to make this project come real. Please download the open-source STL files from our Urban Hubs website and 3D print more Urban Hubs on your 3D printer. Also join our community and register your Urban Hubs on google maps.

Urban Hubs are functional street art, which will eventually have a positive impact on recycling streams in the future as the community is growing - so your participation counts. Most importantly: Let's have fun with it!
